Role overview
Jovie is looking for an experienced, warm, and energetic nanny to support different families with childcare. The role involves caring for infants and toddlers while parents are at work, with most assignments scheduled Monday through Friday during standard daytime hours. This opportunity is best suited to someone who enjoys working with children and has prior experience in babysitting, nannying, daycare, preschool, or church nursery settings.
Compensation
- Base pay is $20 to $22 per hour.
- Overtime is paid at $30 to $33 per hour.
What you will do
- Provide attentive care for young children in family homes.
- Spend time playing, reading, doing crafts, and leading other age-appropriate activities.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and coworkers.
- Keep the work area tidy and help with cleanup after activities.
- Work in active, child-centered environments, with outdoor play when weather allows.
- Follow family routines while responding quickly and calmly to children’s needs and any unexpected situations.
Candidate profile
You should be a friendly, dependable, and creative childcare professional who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging infants and toddlers through play and learning activities, can communicate well with families and the team, and is reliable enough for families to count on consistently.
Schedule and availability
- Availability is needed for at least five days each week.
- Typical shifts are 6 to 9 hours long.
- Working hours usually fall between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
- Most assignments are on weekdays, especially Monday to Friday.
Requirements and certifications
- At least 1 year of hands-on infant care experience is required.
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to travel to assignments.
- You need to provide 3 references, including 2 related to work with children and 1 character reference.
- First Aid and CPR certification are required.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
Physical demands
- The job includes frequent lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
- You must be able to safely lift up to 35 pounds.
