Job description

Overview

Become part of the Center of Money team as a Full Stack Software Developer I and build technology that makes a real difference in financial products. In this role, you’ll help shape strategic offerings and new growth opportunities that support business expansion and improve outcomes for customers.

You’ll join a fast-paced group that is focused on customers, values continuous learning, and encourages experimentation and teamwork. The role offers hands-on exposure across the stack, collaboration with experienced engineers, and the opportunity to release features that deliver measurable impact for both the business and its users.

What You’ll Do

  • Take part in end-to-end delivery of web software, including clarifying requirements, discussing designs, writing code, testing, and documenting work.
  • Spend most of your time coding and building practical implementation skills through hands-on development.
  • Review peer code, apply feedback, and help strengthen code quality and engineering habits.
  • Help investigate and fix defects found during QA, pre-release validation, and production support.
  • Work with the team to meet sprint goals and delivery commitments.
  • Partner with product managers, QA/QE, and other engineering groups to support shared objectives.
  • Follow established development workflows, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and help create a productive working environment.
  • Bring curiosity and a strong interest in building technical skills that benefit customers.
  • Participate actively in Agile routines such as daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience building web, software, or mobile applications; internships and academic work are acceptable.
  • Basic knowledge of software engineering concepts and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in school, internships, or work with at least one object-oriented language such as Ruby, Java, C#, Python, or C++.
  • Working familiarity with the software development life cycle.
  • Exposure to web services, especially REST APIs.
  • Some understanding of unit testing and core testing practices; test-driven development is an advantage.
  • Strong willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow in a collaborative engineering setting.
  • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, helpful mindset, and readiness to take responsibility for assigned work.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is CAD 94,000 to CAD 127,000 per year. The position may also qualify for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits under applicable plans and programs.
