Through sharing work with a community of more than 2 million Instagram followers, the company developed a style built around authenticity and a strong sense of place. Over time, that grew into a full creative production practice now creating photo and video content internationally.

Role Overview

The company is seeking to grow its network of freelance video editors based ideally in East London. This is not a permanent in-house position; instead, it is a project-based freelance opportunity for editors who may collaborate with Cala across the year.

The work mainly serves the hospitality, travel, and lifestyle industries, supporting hotels, destinations, and brands worldwide. The ideal editor will bring at least 3 years of professional experience and advanced expertise in DaVinci Resolve.

What the Role May Involve

• Editing short-form and medium-form video content for different platforms and output formats
• Building engaging edits ranging from 6-second and 15-second cuts to 30-second and longer pieces
• Performing colour correction and grading to a polished professional level
• Handling sound design, music selection, and audio balancing
• Working closely with producers, creatives, and clients during post-production
• Completing projects on time while keeping a high standard of accuracy and detail
• Managing notes, changes, and revisions in a structured and professional way

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of professional video editing experience
• Strong command of DaVinci Resolve
• Excellent skills in editing, pacing, storytelling, and post-production workflow
• Advanced colour grading ability and familiarity with cinematic visual language
• Ability to produce work that matches Cala’s aesthetic and quality expectations
• Experience with travel, hospitality, lifestyle, or branded content is preferred
• Strong capability in sound design and audio editing
• High attention to detail
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Collaborative, professional, kind, and dependable attitude
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently

Location and Eligibility

• Based in East London, ideally
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom
• A relevant portfolio and showreel are required
