Job description
About the opportunity
This role is part of an expanding freelance design network created to support ongoing creative demand. It is a flexible, project-driven arrangement suited to designers who enjoy moving between different apparel and merchandise assignments while keeping control over their own schedule.
You will be brought in whenever work is available, with assignments depending on business priorities, seasonal demand, and overall workload. There is no fixed minimum for hours or projects, but designers who deliver consistently strong work and communicate well may continue receiving future opportunities.
If you like building eye-catching apparel graphics and thrive in a lively creative setting, this could be a strong fit.
What you will do
- Create original, polished graphics for apparel and merchandise such as shirts, hoodies, hats, pants, and similar products for fraternities, sororities, student groups, and other custom merch clients.
- Turn client briefs and rough ideas into clear visual directions that match the brand and the goals of each project.
- Produce mockups, proofs, and final artwork that are ready for printing and manufacturing.
- Handle several assignments at once while keeping a sharp focus on detail and deadlines.
- Keep up with new directions in fashion, collegiate culture, Greek life, and apparel design so your concepts stay current and relevant.
- Organize design files, templates, logos, and previous work so assets are easy to find and reuse later.
- Work with internal teams and stakeholders to make sure the final output meets both creative and production expectations.
- Share your availability in advance and reply quickly when new jobs are offered.
- Contribute to other creative tasks and design work as needed.
What we are looking for
We are especially interested in designers who have worked with fraternities, sororities, or other Greek-life organizations, as that background is a major plus.
Applicants should have prior graphic design experience, ideally in apparel, fashion, merchandising, or brand identity work, along with strong capability in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
Success in this role also requires solid vector illustration skills, a strong sense of layout and composition, and confidence working with typography, color, and garment decoration methods.
You should be able to create commercially relevant designs, take feedback constructively, stay organized across multiple deadlines, and adapt easily to different design styles and client needs.
Experience preparing production-ready artwork and print specifications is highly valuable.
Why join the freelance network
- Enjoy flexible remote project work.
- Work on a broad mix of apparel and merchandise creative assignments.
- Gain exposure to collegiate, Greek-life, and custom branding markets.
- Build the chance for repeat work based on performance, availability, and business demand.
Additional information
This is a freelance, project-based arrangement rather than a guaranteed-hours role. Work is assigned as needed, and there is no commitment to a minimum number of tasks or time. Ongoing opportunities depend on the quality of your work, how reliably you communicate, and the volume of upcoming projects.
