Job description
Role Overview
Mindrift is seeking an experienced Brand Designer to contribute to the Tendem project and support specialized data-scraping workflows within a hybrid AI-and-human setup. In this freelance, part-time remote role, you will work alongside Tendem Agents who take care of repetitive work, while you focus on the judgment, creative direction, and design expertise needed to establish a polished and modern visual identity.
The position is best suited to creative professionals who have practical experience developing brand assets, shaping visual identities, and keeping branding consistent across different materials and channels.
About Mindrift
The Mindrift platform brings subject-matter experts into AI-driven projects for leading technology innovators. Its goal is to help generative AI grow by connecting it with real-world expertise from professionals around the world.
About the Role
This freelance assignment is tied to the Tendem project. The main focus will be creating brand assets, defining visual identity elements, and maintaining brand consistency. You will act as the design lead responsible for establishing the brand’s visual foundation, updating the look and feel, and making sure all visual outputs remain cohesive across formats and platforms using standard industry tools.
Responsibilities
- Build core brand assets from the ground up, such as logos, full identity systems, and complete color palettes.
- Produce, arrange, and hand over the required versions of essential brand components in an organized way.
- Protect brand consistency across every internal and external touchpoint, including pitch decks and social media kits.
- Create scalable visual frameworks designed to remain effective and relevant over time while meeting contemporary design expectations.
- Review and uphold design quality across channels to ensure the brand translates accurately in both digital and print formats.
How the Work Starts
Selected candidates will first complete the necessary qualification steps and then begin contributing to relevant projects based on their expertise and availability. Work is self-paced, and you may support activities such as drafting training prompts or improving AI-generated outputs that shape how AI learns to build coherent brand identities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in brand design, graphic design, art direction, or visual communications is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Communication Design, or a related creative discipline is an advantage.
- Strong capability in creating brand identity assets from scratch, including adaptable logos, distinctive color systems, and typography frameworks.
- Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, along with Figma for developing and managing design assets.
- Proven ability to adapt brand identity across multiple output types, from social media kits and pitch decks to printed collateral.
- Well-developed brand system skills, including the ability to build clear guidelines, style references, and organized asset libraries for team use.
- English proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2) or higher is required.
- A portfolio showing branding work such as logos, identity systems, and brand guidelines must be included with the CV.
- A strategic, detail-focused mindset aimed at strengthening long-term brand value.
- Strong commitment to keeping visuals consistent and serving as a reliable brand quality checkpoint.
- Ability to work independently, solve problems on your own, and deliver high-quality output without close supervision.
Workload and Compensation
The expected workload during active phases is about 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on project needs. This is only an estimate and does not guarantee a fixed number of hours.
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $50 per hour for this project, with pay varying based on experience and the pace of contribution. Compensation can differ from one project to another depending on scope, complexity, and expertise required.
