Job description
About the Company
Bybit, founded in 2018, is a major global cryptocurrency exchange and digital finance platform serving more than 80 million users across 200+ countries and regions. The company operates across trading, payments, wealth management, custody, institutional solutions, and Web3, with a focus on user-first product design, high performance, and rapid execution.
The organization emphasizes a collaborative, fast-paced environment where teams are encouraged to solve complex problems, improve products continuously, and help shape the future of digital finance through technology and innovation. Its services are supported by multilingual customer support and a strong commitment to transparency and trust in the digital asset industry.
Role Overview
This role is centered on payment risk operations and fraud prevention across the full payment lifecycle. The specialist will monitor transactions and fund flows, review potentially risky cases, investigate abnormal behaviors, and help strengthen detection and control mechanisms. The position also requires close partnership with internal stakeholders to improve risk strategies and embed controls into payment processes and product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee payment risk activity across the full payment journey, including transaction, fund-flow, and process-related exposure.
- Use regular monitoring, rule-based alerts, and case reviews to identify recurring risk situations and behavioral patterns, then turn findings into practical control improvements.
- Review supporting materials for users or transactions that may carry elevated risk, and assess approval quality, review effectiveness, and resulting risk outcomes.
- Spot weaknesses in review rules and workflows, then contribute to process refinements and stronger risk-control product capabilities.
- Analyze suspicious payment cases with operational and analytical tools, trace abnormal transaction behavior and money movement, and rebuild the sequence of events behind the incident.
- Translate case findings into targeted prevention and mitigation actions for payment risk.
- Track payment-risk trends, the performance of control strategies, and the effectiveness of operational processes.
- Help build early-warning capabilities that surface new and emerging risk signals before they escalate.
- Work with Business, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance teams to improve payment risk policies, define control requirements, and ensure controls are built into key payment flows and new products.
- Support the security and stability of payment operations through coordinated cross-functional execution.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in risk management, ideally within financial services, fintech, or consulting. Experience with payment risk investigations, transaction reviews, or fund-risk handling is especially valuable.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work with Hive, SQL, and Excel for basic analysis and issue diagnosis.
- Strong understanding of payment risk operations and case analysis methods.
- Familiarity with common payment fraud patterns and abnormal transaction behavior.
- Capability to deploy risk rules or control measures quickly and check whether they are working effectively.
- Strong analytical reasoning and sensitivity to risk signals.
- Clear communication and the ability to align multiple teams around risk requirements and actions.
- Interest in payment-risk work and willingness to keep learning about new technologies, business models, and regulations.
- High attention to detail, accountability, and resilience in demanding environments.
Benefits
- Study Growth Fund to support learning and professional development.
- Regular internal events, workshops, and team-building activities.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse international team.
- Career growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding global organization.
- Internal mobility options to support long-term career development.
