About the company

The business is building AI voice technology that enables companies to hold natural, large-scale conversations with customers. In a world where customer interactions are growing rapidly, the goal is to replace outdated phone-tree experiences with intelligent voice agents that can understand and respond in natural language. The product is already being used by major B2C brands, and the team is focused on helping companies build, launch, and continuously improve customer-facing AI voice agents at scale.

The team is small, highly ambitious, and works in a fast-moving, low-ego environment. Across engineering, product, and go-to-market, the company relies heavily on AI tools, moves quickly, and expects people to take real ownership while staying humble and collaborative.

About the role

This is a foundational talent acquisition position and the first dedicated recruiting hire. The role goes far beyond simply closing open positions; it is responsible for creating the hiring function from the ground up and ensuring the company continues to attract exceptional talent across every team.

You will work closely with the founders and hiring managers to shape hiring strategy, design processes, build sourcing playbooks, and run end-to-end recruitment in parallel. The core challenge is to scale the team quickly while maintaining a very high talent bar.

What you will do

  • Create the hiring function from scratch by working with leadership to define recruiting strategy, workflows, and sourcing approaches.
  • Own the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, debriefs, and driving candidates through to offer stage.
  • Build a consistent pipeline of top-tier talent across roles through outbound outreach, referrals, founder networks, communities, and events.
  • Protect both quality and speed by maintaining a strong offer acceptance rate and keeping time-to-offer short and predictable.
  • Develop strong technical hiring capability by aligning with engineering leaders, assessing technical signals credibly, and pre-qualifying candidates before manager interviews.
  • Manage external agencies and recruiters proactively by setting clear briefs, evaluating candidate quality, giving quick feedback, and stopping channels that do not perform.
  • Represent the company externally and ensure every candidate experience reflects a strong, thoughtful employer brand.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of talent acquisition experience in a fast-moving startup or scale-up and has already helped build a hiring function from the ground up. Experience hiring strong candidates in competitive markets across both engineering and commercial roles is important.

You should also have an active, warm network within the Berlin and broader EU startup and VC ecosystem that can be activated right away. Familiarity with modern ATS platforms, especially Ashby, and AI sourcing tools is expected. The role suits someone who works with a high sense of ownership, communicates clearly and with polish, and makes decisions using funnel data.

This role is best suited to a true standards-setter who believes in hiring only exceptional people and is comfortable working closely with founders and hiring managers.
