What you will do
- Act as a direct support partner to the founders and help connect them with teams across the company.
- Own high-priority special projects from start to finish, ensuring they align with the company’s goals and direction.
- Support strategic planning, project coordination, and operational execution on a daily basis.
- Create presentations, reports, and other internal or external communication materials.
- Spot operational bottlenecks and work on practical ways to improve processes and outcomes.
- Help shape and implement new ideas, initiatives, and growth strategies.
- Switch between strategic work and hands-on operational tasks as needed in a startup setting.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience of around 1 to 2 years in a fast-paced startup or scale-up, consulting, investment banking, or venture capital environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, paired with a proactive approach.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken; German is an advantage.
- Comfort working independently in a changing environment, with a strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial drive, and a solid work ethic.
- Interest in energy-efficient buildings and the wider sustainability mission.
- Ability to adapt quickly, step outside your comfort zone, and deliver strong results under pressure.
Why VARM

Buildings are a major source of energy use and emissions in Europe, so decarbonizing them is a critical step toward a sustainable future. VARM aims to scale insulation across the continent and become Europe’s insulation leader, with a long-term goal of insulating 1 million homes over the next 10 years.
Benefits
- Competitive package with a mix of cash and stock options, depending on your upside preference.
- Opportunity to join the core team during a highly dynamic early-stage growth phase.
- Direct influence on company culture, working style, and team collaboration.
- Chance to contribute meaningfully to climate action and the energy transition.
- On-site collaboration is the default, with flexibility for hybrid remote work.
- Personal growth support through mentoring and regular feedback sessions with the founders.
- Startup culture with training, team events, and a well-equipped office in Kreuzberg.
- Discounted fitness programs.
- A workplace that values diversity and inclusion.
Additional information
This is a full-time role based in Berlin, Germany. The company operates with an onsite-first approach, while still allowing hybrid flexibility for remote work.
Company mission
VARM is focused on rethinking insulation to make buildings more energy efficient, reduce heating costs by up to 50%, and lower CO₂ emissions at scale. The broader ambition is to help drive the shift toward a climate-neutral future.
