We are seeking a seasoned Foreperson to take charge of crews working on a variety of roading maintenance and roading construction assignments across the Thames area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong civil and roading expertise who can champion safety, output, and workmanship on site while stepping into an important operational leadership position.
About the position
In this role, you will manage day-to-day site operations and make sure the team completes work safely, efficiently, and to the expected standard. You will partner with supervisors, engineers, and project managers to help deliver strong outcomes on both planned works and reactive roading jobs.
This position may be based in Thames, Coromandel, or Whitianga.
Key duties
- Direct and coordinate work crews on roading maintenance and construction projects
- Organise daily job plans, labour, equipment, and site needs
- Maintain safe work habits and encourage a strong safety-focused culture
- Complete work to the required quality level, including pavement, drainage, earthworks, sealing, and road repair tasks
- Work with project teams to share progress updates and handle site issues
- Pitch in with practical site work when needed
- Make sure environmental rules and company processes are always observed
What we are seeking
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in roading maintenance and/or roading construction, along with prior leadership, foreperson, or supervisory background. A sound understanding of civil construction methods is important, as is a proactive approach to health and safety. Strong communication and crew coordination abilities are also essential. A full driver licence is required; a Class 2 licence would be an advantage, and WTR endorsement would be beneficial.
