Job description

About The Heritage

The Heritage combines refined style with attentive service in the scenic Laois countryside. It includes a premium, internationally recognised hotel and an award-winning European spa. Guests also have access to a range of leisure facilities on site, including a health club, leisure pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms, a 5 km walking track, and a cinema.

Role Overview

This is an opportunity for two experienced Food and Beverage Assistants to become part of the team. The role requires full-time flexibility and the ability to work early shifts, late shifts, weekends, and bank holidays throughout the year.

Key Duties

  • Welcome guests warmly, using eye contact and a friendly greeting when appropriate.
  • Keep your service area neat, organised, and presentable at all times.
  • Prepare the station before service, including table setup, stocking supplies, and making tea or coffee.
  • Clear, polish, and store crockery, cutlery, and glassware properly to help prevent damage and loss while maintaining quality standards.
  • Take guest orders accurately and support sales by suggesting suitable products where appropriate.
  • Deliver service in a courteous, efficient, and professional way.
  • Maintain excellent cleanliness standards in the bar and restaurant.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and efficiently to support guest satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wines, spirits, and menu items.
  • Manage guest complaints discreetly and involve management when necessary.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant should bring a professional, approachable manner and a strong focus on customer care. Previous experience in a busy hospitality setting is preferred, ideally around one year, although full training will be provided. The role also requires someone who works well in a team, can juggle multiple tasks, and pays close attention to detail.

Working Pattern

Successful candidates must be available for full-time hours year-round and be flexible to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Benefits

  • Discounted accommodation and services at other FBD properties.
  • Health club membership.
  • Employee referral scheme.
  • Access to learning and development opportunities.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • A supportive team environment with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Meals provided while on duty.
