This role is on second shift.
Role Summary
The Floor Person helps keep the production floor clean, organized, and compliant with manufacturing and food safety standards. The position focuses on removing waste and debris, supporting sanitation, and handling additional duties that help the team maintain smooth operations.
Key Duties
- Clear trash and food waste from designated containers.
- Dispose of waste in the correct compactor; this task requires a forklift license.
- Pick up debris from floors and surrounding work areas.
- Maintain cleanliness across all assigned areas while following General Manufacturing Policies.
- Carry out other assigned tasks needed to stay compliant and support plant operations.
- Follow company policies, procedures, SQF 2000 standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Global Business Standards.
- Make sure inedible material is collected and moved to the proper location.
- Remove supplies, tools, unauthorized materials, cardboard, and other trash from the area.
- Take on extra responsibilities as needed, including cross-training on other machines or in other areas.
Requirements
- A valid forklift license is mandatory.
- You should be able to understand and act on both spoken and written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
- You must be comfortable working in a production setting that requires safety glasses, a hair/beard net, hearing protection, and rubber boots with safety toes; PPE is supplied by the employer.
- Comfort with climbing stairs to enter and leave the production area is needed.
- You must be willing to use boot scrubbers before entering work zones.
- Readiness to work in both cold and hot conditions is necessary.
- This job involves 8 to 12 hour shifts with standing, walking, and continuous movement.
