Finishing Operator

About the Role

EPI is seeking a skilled Finishing Operator to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This role involves performing critical finishing and deburring processes on manufactured components to ensure they meet stringent quality specifications. The operator will be responsible for maintaining high standards of work, including tool setup, process verification, product inspection, and material handling. A strong focus on quality control and adherence to standard operating procedures is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute finishing and deburring tasks, including blending, polishing, and creating edge breaks on components.
• Conduct quality inspections of manufactured parts using bench gauging to verify conformance to specifications.
• Adhere strictly to standard procedures for tool setup, operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
• Perform visual inspections to identify any defects or non-conformance.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Remove sharp edges, mismatches, tool marks, and perform tab cutting and grinding during the deburring process.
• Conduct spot facing operations as required.
• Perform straightening using 3-point bending, shot peening, or manual mallet techniques.
• Execute Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities according to the designated checklist.
• Conduct In-Process Measurements (IPM) to ensure the quality of output throughout the manufacturing process.
• Accurately complete all controlled documents and SFC (Shop Floor Control) tasks in a timely manner.
• Maintain housekeeping and implement 5S principles within the work area.
• Operate various deburring equipment, including pneumatic saws, band saws, pneumatic polishers/sanders, spot facing tools, drilling equipment, angle grinders, straight grinders, belt grinders, and utilize sanding paper and die stones for cleaning.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of tools and processes by stamping the shop traveler sequence.

Qualifications and Skills

• Trade School Accreditation or High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Certification or Accreditation in Deburring is preferred.
• Proficiency in Straightening Processes and Material Handling.
• Experience in Quality Inspection and Measurement techniques.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the aerospace or automotive industries is required.
