Job description
Role overview
JTI is hiring a permanent Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst based in Singapore. The role reports to the FP&A Manager for the SAT Cluster and supports one assigned market within the cluster — Australia, Thailand, or Singapore. This is a business-facing finance role with ownership of the market’s full P&L and free cash flow, along with responsibility for planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance review.
The analyst will build financial plans from market performance data, monitor cash flow to support business continuity, and turn financial analysis into practical recommendations for management. The role requires close coordination with local stakeholders, cross-functional teams, Entity Finance Controlling, Supply Planning, and Corporate FP&A to ensure market financials are accurate, aligned to strategy, and submitted on time.
This position remains open until it is filled.
Key responsibilities
- Support the FP&A Manager across financial planning and analysis, budgeting, performance reporting, and free cash flow management within the cluster market structure.
- Prepare and combine working documents for annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and A&SP planning at the market P&L level.
- Create planning templates and work with business partners to collect inputs and align them with planning assumptions.
- Handle TM1, IBP, and GPM uploads and coordinate with Corporate FP&A to enable the required analysis and on-time submission.
- Deliver HQ and regional reporting with a strong focus on completeness, accuracy, and deadline compliance.
- Review OPEX and Marketing & Sales performance, including revenue and expenditure, to ensure it supports the broader business plan.
- Assess balance sheet and cash flow performance to help achieve accurate year-end outcomes and safeguard financial sustainability.
- Compare actual results against plan, run variance analysis, and identify corrective and preventive actions where gaps appear.
- Build financial models and scenario analysis, including pricing and other simulations, to guide business decisions and create commercial value.
- Work with Entity Controlling to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by coordinating with Accounting, GBS, and relevant business teams.
- Maintain accurate management P&L reporting in the system.
- Monitor budgets with budget owners and ensure spending remains aligned to approved financial plans.
- Carry out actual Capex analysis and support Capex planning and governance.
- Coordinate with GBS on master data updates, including product cost, profit and cost centers, transfer pricing, and PIR setup.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis, simulations, and financial models to support cross-functional initiatives and global projects.
Requirements
- A university degree, or an equivalent qualification, in Finance, Business, Economics, or Accounting.
- Between 5 and 8 years of experience in FP&A or a similar role, ideally gained in an international environment.
- Strong command of English.
- Good skills in MS Office, especially Excel, plus working knowledge of SAP; experience with planning and reporting systems is an advantage.
- Strong commercial understanding and analytical ability, with the capacity to work to tight deadlines and partner effectively across functions.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a mindset focused on learning and growth.
