Role overview

Unique Flavours & Fragrances Ghana is a major supplier of flavours, fragrances, colours, and specialty chemicals serving Ghana and the wider West African market. The company is hiring an experienced Financial Director to lead the finance function and support the next phase of business expansion.

This is a senior, full-time position based on-site in Accra, with responsibility for the organisation’s financial direction, performance, and reporting. The role focuses on planning, budgeting, cash flow control, statutory compliance, and high-quality financial analysis that supports executive and board-level decisions.

Key duties

  • Set and oversee financial strategy, planning, and reporting for UFFL and any related entities.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Manage liquidity, treasury, cash flow, and working capital to support daily operations and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority requirements, VAT obligations, and all relevant statutory filings.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports within required timelines.
  • Track performance against plans, investigate variances, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Provide board-ready analysis, models, and insights to support major business decisions.
  • Guide and support the finance team while partnering with sales and operations functions.

Candidate profile

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive finance experience is required; this requirement is strict.
  • Must hold a recognised accounting qualification such as ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent credential.
  • Strong understanding of Ghanaian tax rules and the local regulatory environment is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud accounting tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, FMCG, or chemicals will be an added advantage.
  • Should be capable of working independently at a senior level with very limited supervision.
