Job description

Job Summary

This position focuses on managing financial planning, reporting, and control for HR and workforce-related spend. The role centers on budgeting, forecasting, payroll accounting, and turning financial data into practical insights that help guide HR and wider business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the HR budgeting and forecasting cycle, including scenario analysis and modelling of workforce and people-related costs.
  • Produce accurate monthly reports, dashboards, variance commentary, and forward-looking analysis for HR leadership.
  • Oversee payroll accounting and month-end close processes, ensuring figures are recorded correctly and on time.
  • Carry out account reconciliations and maintain strong controls in line with accounting standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Assist with audits while ensuring compliance with governance requirements, contract terms, and cost-control measures.
  • Prepare commercial analysis and cost-benefit assessments to support HR initiatives and strategic decisions.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, precision, and financial discipline across HR finance operations.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Corporate Finance, Procurement, and outside stakeholders to support business needs.
  • Handle sensitive employee and financial information with complete confidentiality and integrity.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; professional credentials such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA are viewed favorably.
  • Between 5 and 8 years of progressive finance experience, ideally with exposure to FP&A, budgeting, or HR finance-related work.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting, workforce planning, and financial reporting practices.
  • Advanced Excel capability and practical experience using ERP platforms, preferably SAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to manage and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and planning skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams.
