Job description

Role overview

Nuuaa is seeking a Finance Officer to independently manage the finance function for three expanding business areas, including training and development, as well as AI and technology services for SMEs. This is a practical, high-ownership position based in Galway, working from the office and reporting straight to the CEO.

The role covers the full day-to-day finance cycle, monthly reporting, and support with budgets and forecasts. You will also help strengthen processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency as the group continues to scale. The business works with AccountsIQ, SharePoint, Teams, and other cloud-based tools, giving you access to a multi-entity finance setup.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the full accounts cycle, including purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations, journals, and month-end tasks.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, provide payroll support, and complete Revenue-related filings.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, budget schedules, and cash flow reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance across three separate business units.
  • Maintain finance records and reporting workflows using SharePoint and Microsoft 365 systems.
  • Work with auditors, banks, Revenue, and Enterprise Ireland as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in finance, ideally as an Assistant Accountant, Senior Bookkeeper, or in a similar ATI-level role.
  • Proven experience with VAT and management accounts preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and cloud-based finance platforms; AccountsIQ experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and oversee the complete finance cycle.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with the CEO and management team.

Additional information

This is a standalone finance role with substantial autonomy and direct exposure to leadership. The position is office-based in Galway and can be structured as full-time, part-time, or job share.
