Job description

Company Overview

The Ashe Company is an expanding business that places a strong emphasis on honesty, accountability, and disciplined financial control. Headquartered in Kingston, it delivers quality products and services while building dependable relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders. The company welcomes ideas that can improve efficiency, openness, and overall performance, and it promotes a workplace culture centered on respect, reliability, collaboration, and long-term growth.

Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Finance Officer position in Kingston is focused on managing day-to-day financial operations and providing support that helps guide organizational decisions. The role covers financial statement preparation and review, maintenance of general ledger records, and support for budgeting and forecasting. It also involves financial reporting, assistance with month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring that internal procedures and applicable regulations are followed.

In addition, the position requires examining financial information to spot patterns, risks, and opportunities, then summarizing findings clearly for management. The Finance Officer will also work with cross-functional teams, address finance-related queries, and contribute to improvements in financial processes and systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of finance and be able to apply financial principles to routine operations as well as broader planning needs. Experience in a comparable finance or accounting position, especially within a corporate or SME environment, would be an advantage. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is expected, and professional credentials such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA are considered a plus.

Strong analytical ability is needed to review data, identify differences, and turn findings into practical recommendations. The role also calls for clear communication skills, high attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines in an on-site setting. Familiarity with QuickBooks, spreadsheet tools such as Excel, and other financial systems or databases is also important.
