Job description
About the Company
Tomorrow University is a modern, impact-focused university built to prepare people for meaningful careers and the transition to a more sustainable world. It offers accredited degree programs aimed at developing future-ready skills and connects learners with a strong network of experts who can help amplify their impact.
The institution operates remotely and uses technology and AI to deliver flexible, personalized learning that can be accessed from anywhere. It is recognized as the first EdTech startup in Europe to hold a fully state-recognized university license and is ranked among the top 20 EdTech startups worldwide.
Mission and Approach
The university takes a student-centered approach rather than a traditional teacher-led model. Its focus is on helping learners build the skills, mindset, and practical experience needed to make a global difference. Students work on real-world challenges while learning from educators, mentors, and partners around the world.
All roles at the company are fully remote, with working hours aligned to Central European Time and a flexibility window of plus or minus 2 hours.
Role Overview
As Finance Manager, you will support the finance function across accounting, reporting, operations, planning, and process improvement. The role combines hands-on execution with systems thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including preparatory bookkeeping, coordination with external advisors, accounts receivable and accounts payable, intercompany entries, bank reconciliations, and the preparation of reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage revenue operations by issuing customer invoices, running dunning activities, improving automation, reconciling Stripe transactions, investigating payment failures, and ensuring revenue is recorded correctly.
- Oversee daily cash and liquidity tasks, including invoice and expense processing, payment execution, payroll coordination with HR, and early identification of financial risks.
- Support financial planning and analysis by maintaining and enhancing models, forecasts, and budgets, as well as helping ensure the data pipelines behind these plans are current, accurate, and dependable.
- Improve finance processes and systems by introducing automation, better reporting flows, and workflow optimizations that help the function scale.
- Maintain well-organized financial records and documentation and assist with data rooms for fundraising or partnership due diligence.
- Contribute to adjacent projects in areas such as grants, transfer pricing, intercompany governance, fundraising, legal and compliance, and HR.
Candidate Profile
The company is looking for someone with solid finance and accounting experience, confidence working in fast-moving environments, and the ability to improve processes while keeping operations accurate and reliable.
Additional Information
The role requires a high degree of ownership, independent execution, and strong collaboration across teams. Clear communication, curiosity, integrity, proactivity, and a strong bias toward action are important. A genuine interest in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and technology is also valued.
Application Note
The company emphasizes potential and drive over formal credentials. Degrees are welcomed, but they are not considered more important than motivation and capability.
Perks and Benefits
You’ll have access to the company’s learning opportunities and a culture that supports ongoing personal and professional growth. The team comes together twice a year for a week-long workation in Europe. In addition, you receive 25 vacation days per year plus public holidays based on your location.
