Role Overview

Gate is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its Finance & Strategy function. In this position, you will report to finance leadership and act as a trusted advisor to business teams, turning financial data into practical insight that supports stronger decision-making.

This is a high-impact role for someone who is confident with numbers, comfortable influencing in discussions with leaders, and able to collaborate across functions in a fast-paced international setting.

What You'll Do

Business partnering

• Act as a dependable finance partner to business unit leaders by providing analysis, forecasts, and strategic guidance.
• Build effective relationships with product, operations, and commercial stakeholders to support decisions driven by data.
• Assist leadership with scenario planning, investment evaluations, and other ad hoc financial analysis.

FP&A and planning

• Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and rolling financial plans for assigned business areas.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packs with clear variance explanations and practical commentary.
• Create and update financial models that support planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation.

P&L ownership

• Maintain clear visibility over revenue, expenses, and margins within your area of responsibility.
• Spot risks and growth opportunities early and work with relevant stakeholders to adjust course when needed.
• Strengthen accountability through well-defined KPI frameworks and ongoing performance tracking.

Finance operations and improvement

• Work with accounting and operations teams to safeguard the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
• Identify ways to improve reporting workflows, systems, and controls.
• Contribute to finance transformation work as the company continues to scale.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of finance experience, with a solid FP&A foundation; direct FP&A experience is mandatory.
• Prior exposure to business partnering or close collaboration with non-finance teams.
• Experience from management consulting or a Big 4 firm is strongly preferred, along with current or recent work in crypto, finance, or fintech.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; CPA, CFA, or a similar professional qualification is an added advantage.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, including the ability to build models from the ground up.
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to colleagues without a finance background.
• Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage several priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Commercially minded with curiosity to understand the business beyond the figures.
• Advanced use of Excel or Google Sheets; experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI, or with ERP systems, is a plus.
• Fluent English and Chinese are required; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
