Role overview
Cater Care is looking for reliable housekeepers to work in remote village accommodation across Queensland, Australia. This position offers a fly-in-fly-out or drive-in-drive-out arrangement from Brisbane, with a full-time permanent setup and a 2/1 roster. Shifts may run for 10, 11, or 11.5 hours.
The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000 per year, plus superannuation. Team members receive meals, uniforms, and accommodation while on roster. Sites are available across Ernest Henry, Bauxite Hills, Ravenswood, Ensham, Baralaba, Jellinbah, Clarke Creek, Lake Vermont, Cracow, and Archers Village.
What the job involves
- Cleaning ensuite-style single rooms in village accommodation
- Replacing linen and preparing beds
- Dusting and wiping down bedroom surfaces
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Emptying waste bins
- Operating a buggy for site movement
- Using cleaning chemicals safely
- Handling physically demanding and repetitive work, including lifting and bending
- Supporting the wider site team when needed
- Maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety
What you need
Applicants should be comfortable working alone and as part of a team, and bring a genuinely friendly, service-focused approach. The role suits someone with a positive, motivated, can-do attitude who can perform effectively in a busy, time-sensitive environment for long stretches. A tidy personal presentation and good hygiene are important for this position.
Requirements
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Between 6 and 12 months of housekeeping experience
- Police clearance issued within the last 6 months
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- RSA certification is preferred
- Hospitality experience is preferred
