Job description

Plant Operations

  • Oversee operational parameters and the status of equipment at the local plant level to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Carry out routine checks on pumps, valves, filters, membranes, chemical dosing systems, and related auxiliary equipment.
  • Manage plant start-ups, shutdowns, and equipment transitions by adhering to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data, including readings and key events, in logbooks and shift reports.
  • Support process monitoring activities and aid in identifying and resolving operational issues.

Equipment Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Detect any irregularities such as leaks, unusual vibrations, or equipment faults and communicate them promptly.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel during scheduled and corrective maintenance operations.
  • Execute basic upkeep duties including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Assist with the isolation and reactivation of equipment surrounding maintenance tasks.

Water Quality & Process Control

  • Gather water samples and help perform laboratory tests to evaluate quality.
  • Keep track of reverse osmosis membranes, pretreatment systems, chemical dosing levels, and overall water quality indicators.
  • Ensure the plant consistently achieves its production targets and quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all permit-to-work protocols.
  • Report any incidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions without delay.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within operational zones.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, or Water Treatment Engineering.
  • Have approximately 3 to 4 years of relevant experience working with Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination plants of 50 million liters per day (MLD) capacity or higher, water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, or in related process industries such as chemical, power, or utilities sectors.
