About the Organisation
This role is with a not-for-profit Group Training Organisation located in the Murraylands region of South Australia. The organisation delivers training and recruitment services throughout the state, with a strong focus on apprenticeships and traineeships, and provides tailored support solutions to its clients.
The Opportunity
The Field Officer will report to the CEO and play a key part in strengthening relationships with industry partners, training providers, government agencies, and host employers. The position supports apprenticeship activity and broader workforce development across the organisation’s network.
Core Responsibilities
- Carry out workplace assessments for clients across multiple sites and locations.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to apprentices and trainees.
- Source and recruit new apprentices for client requirements.
- Identify workforce shortages and help shape practical solutions.
- Ensure activities meet WHS requirements and internal compliance standards.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in organisational processes and outcomes.
- Develop productive relationships and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Support the promotion and visibility of the business.
- Work in line with the organisation’s values and represent them consistently.
Essential Experience and Capabilities
- Well-developed relationship management skills with a range of stakeholders.
- Previous involvement in workplace assessments and compliance-related work.
- Ability to coach and support apprentices and trainees effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication, along with customer service skills.
- Experience with accurate data entry and record management.
- Capability to work autonomously while contributing to a fast-moving team environment.
- Working knowledge of Group Training Organisation standards.
- Background in improving systems, procedures, or organisational performance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and remain organised under pressure.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to training organisations in a previous role.
- Understanding of government employment and training initiatives.
- Familiarity with apprentice and trainee recruitment and induction processes.
- Knowledge of Industry Training Advisory Boards and relevant industry sectors.
- Experience engaging with local, state, or federal government stakeholders.
- Prior marketing or promotional experience.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours or across different locations when needed.
- Sound problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
- Awareness of multicultural issues and experience working with diverse communities.
