Role Overview
This position is for a Field Officer responsible for driving territory-level sales, strengthening doctor and chemist engagement, and supporting market development activities within the assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
The role combines field selling, prescription generation, retailer engagement, and execution of promotional and reporting activities. It also requires consistent product knowledge updates, disciplined call planning, and adherence to divisional working norms.
Field Work and Sales Delivery
- Promote the company’s products to doctors and pharmacists as per divisional strategy and guidelines.
- Work toward the assigned sales target by generating prescriptions effectively and maintaining required sales hygiene.
- Ensure chemists and pharmacists have adequate and timely stock so prescription demand can be met.
- Generate personal order bookings (POBs) in line with division requirements.
- Maintain proper territory coverage, visit doctors and chemists regularly, and follow the prescribed call frequency.
- Keep product knowledge current, improve in-clinic effectiveness, use inputs efficiently, and support campaign and camp activities.
Doctor and Chemist Management
- Perform retail chemist prescription audits (RCPA) and record information accurately in the system.
- Plan each doctor visit in advance with clear pre-call objectives.
- Meet the expected daily call norms: 10 to 12 doctor calls and at least 5 chemist calls, subject to division guidelines.
- Maintain more than 95% monthly call report coverage.
- Build long-term relationships to support conversion and reduce loss of prescribers.
- Keep doctor and chemist lists updated regularly according to divisional rules.
Product Promotion and Market Development
- Execute launch plans effectively for new products.
- Organize and participate in product demonstrations, symposiums, doctor group meetings, and seminars to improve prescription generation.
- Identify promising customers and untapped markets in the territory and develop them further.
Business Execution and Reporting
- Carry out the marketing and business strategies assigned for the territory.
- Use e-detailing tabs wherever they are allotted.
- Record sample distribution, doctor conversion updates, and other required inputs.
- Update monthly call reports with the required approvals.
- Submit reporting on a daily basis.
