About the Organisation and Project
Dreamz is hiring for its CSR initiative, Project Shuddhi, which focuses on Sanitation, Hygiene, and Urban Development Driven by Holistic Innovations. The project is based in Sulur Taluk, Coimbatore District, covering Kadampadi, Kangayampalayam, and Karumanthapatti.
Project Shuddhi is designed to strengthen decentralised solid waste management in peri-urban villages of Sulur Taluk. Its core goals include improving household-level waste segregation, setting up community-led organic waste processing systems, building Panchayat capacity for waste management, and encouraging cleaner, healthier neighbourhoods.
Role Summary
The Field Mobiliser will act as the main point of contact with the community for Project Shuddhi. This role involves working closely with households, sanitation workers, Self-Help Groups, volunteers, Panchayat members, and other local stakeholders to spread awareness about waste segregation, support community outreach, conduct surveys, and track implementation at village level. The position is central to encouraging behaviour change and sustaining active participation throughout the project.
Community Mobilisation and Awareness
- Visit homes and carry out awareness drives on segregating waste and disposing of it responsibly.
- Encourage families to follow the two-bin waste segregation method.
- Plan and conduct village-level meetings, awareness programs, and community discussions.
- Support behaviour change communication initiatives linked to sanitation, hygiene, and environmental protection.
- Work with village volunteers and community leaders to strengthen participation in project activities.
Surveys and Field Data Collection
- Carry out household surveys and assess beneficiaries in the field.
- Assist in identifying and mapping Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs).
- Record and update field data through mobile applications or Google Forms.
Volunteer and Stakeholder Coordination
- Identify and engage local youth volunteers for project support.
- Coordinate activities with the Panchayat/municipality and waste collection teams.
- Help organise meetings with Panchayat representatives and nearby institutions.
Training and Event Support
- Assist in arranging training sessions for sanitation workers, volunteers, and community groups.
- Support event logistics, Aerobin installation, and coordination for project meetings and related activities.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain attendance sheets and beneficiary records.
- Collect photographs, testimonials, and success stories from the field.
- Help prepare weekly and monthly project updates and reports.
Eligibility and Requirements
- A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, waste management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Prior exposure to NGO work, waste management, community development, or public health projects is preferred.
- The candidate should be based in the project area or be familiar with it.
- A two-wheeler is required for this role.
Skills Needed
Strong people skills, clear communication, basic smartphone usage, digital data collection, survey handling, record maintenance, coordination, organisation, and a willingness to travel extensively across the project villages are important for success in this role.
Compensation and Other Details
Salary will be offered as per project norms and the candidate’s experience. Travel allowance will be provided for field visits according to project policy.
