Job description
About the Role
This position is part of the Asset Operations stream within the Manufacturing job family, focused on site operations. The role is responsible for running day-to-day equipment and facility activities in a safe, efficient, and quality-conscious manner so that plant output targets are achieved in line with company policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate shift production activities in line with the EPS movement plan.
- Work closely with the relevant Solids Coke LO and PCG-MHS teams.
- Maintain safe vehicle movement across the ramp area.
- Apply site safety controls such as the dumper checklist, toolbox talks, ReSOP, HITRA, and PTW requirements.
- Use PCCS standard operating procedures effectively in day-to-day work.
- Support material handling operations and related activities.
- Check particle size visually to help maintain product quality.
- Monitor operations regularly to improve train production output.
- Keep the ramp in proper condition and free from potholes or similar defects.
- Prevent vehicles from striking the feed hopper stopper and avoid unloading material on the ramp.
- Ensure truck crews do not litter in open areas.
- Follow FIFO logic while allowing vehicles to access the feed hopper.
- Maintain a safe gap between trucks.
- Promote proper use of safety procedures by O&M contractor staff.
- Prepare daily PCCS safety, performance, and improvement reports, including SAP transaction details.
- Take part in routine risk assessments during handover, takeover, and process jobs.
- Conduct toolbox talks before job execution to reinforce safe work practices.
- Carry out process activities within approved operating limits and safety procedures to reduce failures, incidents, and injuries.
- Identify, document, and report near-miss events to help prevent repeat occurrences.
- Follow the latest safety and management systems and standards, including IMS, ISO, TQM, OMS, PSM, QCC, and 5S.
- Comply with LOTO, nitrogen gas safety, line break, and similar critical safety procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working as a field executive in site operations.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of sampling and analysis.
- Knowledge of equipment start-up and shutdown processes.
- Familiarity with maintenance handover and takeover practices.
Working Environment
The role is site-based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India and involves close coordination with internal teams such as Site Operations, Compliance, Health & Safety, and HR, along with external stakeholders including vendors, regulators, and local communities.
Success Metrics
Performance will be measured by the number of workplace incidents, number of field rounds conducted, number of entries in the SD job register, and overall plant housekeeping standards.
