Role overview
This position sits at the heart of Amazon’s operations in Saudi Arabia and is responsible for overseeing all facility maintenance activities, both through direct team members and external contractors. The role is essential to keeping operations running smoothly and supporting the customer experience.
What you will do
- Guide, coach, and support the facilities team while reinforcing safe working practices and high performance standards.
- Build team capability through training and development initiatives.
- Investigate issues to determine underlying causes and put corrective actions in place.
- Act as the backup for the facility manager when the manager is off site.
- Work with the team to maintain safety compliance and accurate activity records.
- Apply Amazon standards and emphasize preventive maintenance to keep equipment highly available for internal customers.
- Coordinate and support team training programs.
- Oversee local projects and assist with construction projects assigned by the manager.
- Be available for shift work to remain connected with the team and daily operations.
- Support a 24/7 operation by leading facilities and service technicians in daily work and project activity.
- Work in a multi-site, customer-focused environment and stay highly self-driven.
- Find practical solutions to complex problems, manage outside vendors, and remain on call for urgent situations.
- Balance several projects and day-to-day priorities while meeting deadlines and departmental goals.
- Ensure safety programs and procedures are followed, while maintaining preventive maintenance systems and strong operational partnerships.
- Assist with budget planning, tracking, and control.
- Coach facilities associates, help them stay motivated, and encourage strong performance.
- Promote proper housekeeping standards across the facilities area.
- Create training plans for facilities and service technicians.
- Build and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
- Work with the team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting, transformers, and related wiring methods and materials.
- Work with the team to install, maintain, and troubleshoot photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, servo drives, and frequency inverters.
- Maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Provide constructive feedback that helps individuals improve performance.
Experience and qualifications
The role calls for a professional with hands-on industrial maintenance experience, prior supervisory exposure, and familiarity with CMMS tools. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, although candidates with at least two years of Amazon experience may also qualify. Strong command of everyday business software such as Excel, Word, and Office is expected.
Preferred background
Additional advantage will be given to candidates with experience in team leadership, budgeting, supplier management, problem solving, and customer or client relations. Exposure to preventive maintenance methods, industrial electrical systems, industrial controls, industrial electronics, robotics, MHE integrators, material handling equipment and integrated systems, as well as project management, will be beneficial.
