Role overview

Autism A Chara is recruiting a Facilitator for its day service in Celbridge, County Kildare. The role is scheduled for 39 hours each week and carries the job reference FAC_CELB_1106.

What the role involves

• Deliver person-centred support to people with complex needs.
• Work as part of a rota with shifts that may include evenings and weekends.
• Assist with day-to-day routines, including personal care where needed.
• Use programme planning and person-centred planning approaches in daily support.
• Support individuals to take part in their local community and build new skills.
• Help people understand their rights and make decisions for themselves.
• Adapt communication to suit individual needs and preferences.
• Provide support in a way that is engaging, patient, kind, and encouraging.
• Drive service vehicles when required as part of the role.

Essential criteria

• A full QQI Level 5 major award in Health/Care is required.
• Understanding of the key worker/support worker role and the ethos of supporting people with complex needs is essential.
• Experience or knowledge of programme planning and person-centred plans is required.
• Availability to work on a shift rota is necessary.
• A full manual driving licence is essential, including the ability to drive service vehicles.
• Permission to work in Ireland is required.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills are needed.
• The candidate should be able to work on their own initiative.
