Role overview
WPS is hiring an experienced Fabric Technician to join its Facilities Management function. The position covers sites across Southern England, with the main focus in Hampshire and nearby areas. This is a mobile role, and the successful candidate will support both planned and reactive fabric maintenance across a varied property portfolio.
What you will do
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as well as urgent fabric repairs.
- Handle day-to-day building fabric tasks such as carpentry and joinery, basic planned maintenance, patch plastering, painting and decorating, and flooring repairs.
- Carry out building inspections, spot defects, and flag issues that need attention.
- Make sure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
- Record completed work accurately through digital reporting tools.
- Assist engineering and facilities colleagues whenever additional support is needed.
- Provide a professional and helpful customer experience while working on client premises.
What we are looking for
- Hands-on experience in a Fabric Technician, Handyperson, or Multi-Trade role within Facilities Management.
- A broad understanding of building repairs and general maintenance work.
- Trade qualifications related to building work are welcome, though not mandatory.
- Confidence working independently in a mobile position.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and a proactive working style.
- Good communication skills and a client-facing approach.
