Role overview
This full-time Executive Director role at a San Antonio recovery center reports to the Chief Executive Officer and leads the daily functioning of the residential treatment facility. The position is accountable for clinical performance, resident satisfaction, team engagement, financial outcomes, and adherence to all applicable state, federal, and internal standards. It also requires regular communication with the CEO so operational decisions stay aligned with executive direction, along with ownership of facility reporting, census submissions, invoice approvals, and the execution of site-specific financial plans.
What you will do
- Direct the day-to-day running of the facility and provide oversight across all operational areas.
- Partner with the Clinical Director as needed to coordinate care and facility activities.
- Continuously improve systems, workflows, and policies that support the organization’s mission.
- Strengthen the efficiency of operational departments and improve coordination between support and business functions.
- Manage the budget in collaboration with executive leadership and help shape program budgets with the CEO.
- Use sound judgment to resolve issues and identify alternate solutions when challenges arise.
- Promote a client-focused model of care delivery.
- Monitor progress against stakeholder expectations and key performance markers.
- Contribute to long-range planning and operational excellence initiatives.
- Meet regularly with executive leaders on fiscal planning and organization-wide initiatives.
- Support sister centers when additional assistance is required.
Leadership scope
This role directly oversees the RTC-Clinical Director, RTC-Case Management Supervisor, and RTC-Operations Manager, with the possibility of supervising additional team members depending on the size of the facility.
What we are looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma at minimum, with a BS/BA in business administration or healthcare/clinical services preferred. The role calls for at least 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment and 3 years of administrative experience. Experience in addiction counseling or substance use treatment is also expected. Strong leadership ability, supervisory experience, clear communication, organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and forward planning are essential. Candidates should be comfortable using common office software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and email, and should also be familiar with office equipment including printers, fax machines, and multi-line phones. Prior experience with EHR systems is required, along with strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, diplomacy, teamwork, deadline management, and satisfactory references. Final selection is subject to a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
