The opportunity

This position supports the founders of a tech startup that has recently achieved unicorn status. The company is lean, ambitious, and operating in a demanding environment where priorities shift quickly and high standards are the norm. The role is closely tied to senior leadership and is intended for someone who wants to be embedded in the business, helping it function smoothly rather than only handling administrative tasks.

This is best suited to a candidate who has already supported founders in a fast-paced startup setting. The work calls for comfort with unpredictability, urgency, and constant change, along with the judgment to act as a dependable partner to the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

You will be central to keeping founders and the wider team organized, aligned, and moving efficiently.

  • Manage complicated executive calendars, scheduling, and priority setting.
  • Provide full personal support, including appointments, reservations, household coordination, scheduling, special projects, and other day-to-day needs that help the founders stay focused on the company.
  • Run meetings from start to finish, including agendas, materials, notes, and follow-up actions.
  • Arrange domestic and international travel, often while adapting to last-minute changes.
  • Serve as a main point of contact among executives, internal teams, and outside stakeholders such as investors and partners.
  • Prepare and handle communications, presentations, and sensitive documents.
  • Monitor major initiatives and make sure deadlines and next steps are completed.
  • Look for ways to simplify workflows and improve how the team operates.
  • Support team events, offsites, and board or investor meetings.
  • Process expenses, invoices, and basic vendor or budget coordination.
  • Help with onboarding logistics and coordination across functions.
  • Step in wherever needed, including operations and office support, as business needs change.

Required profile

The ideal candidate brings strong organization, the ability to prioritize well, and the confidence to work quickly without lowering quality. You should be proactive, ahead of needs, and able to communicate clearly and concisely. Discretion, professionalism, and a collaborative, no-ego approach are essential. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and calendar management tools is important.

Experience and background

You should have at least 7 years of experience supporting founders in demanding, fast-moving environments, both professionally and personally. Prior experience in a respected, high-performing startup or similarly high-growth company is required. A track record of handling both business and personal responsibilities with good judgment, urgency, and confidentiality is important. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Perks and practical details

This role is based in New York City’s Flatiron District and follows a full-time, in-office schedule with 5 days per week on site. Compensation is listed at $150,000 to $175,000 annually, and the package includes full benefits and equity.
