Role overview
The Event Sales Manager position is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Qatar. The role focuses on driving revenue from events by identifying potential clients, developing relationships, and converting leads into business for corporate and private events. The position also involves creating customized proposals, negotiating agreements, and working closely with planning and production teams so that client expectations are fully addressed.
What you will do
- Build and manage a pipeline of event sales opportunities.
- Identify and approach prospective clients for corporate and private event business.
- Prepare tailored proposals, budgets, and forecasts for event projects.
- Handle client meetings and conduct site visits as needed.
- Negotiate contract terms and close sales deals.
- Coordinate with event planning and production teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Maintain accurate activity and client records in CRM systems.
- Support marketing initiatives and represent IEC at industry events.
- Complete post-event follow-up to encourage repeat business and long-term client relationships.
Qualifications and experience
- Hands-on background in event planning and event management, with a track record of delivering corporate and private events successfully.
- Strong sales capability, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing, ideally in events, hospitality, or marketing services.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas, aligning with stakeholder needs, and developing lasting client relationships.
- Experience handling private events with customized concepts, budgets, and schedules.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving on-site environment while coordinating with different teams and balancing several deadlines.
- Good organizational habits, time management, and close attention to detail.
- Comfort using CRM platforms and MS Office or similar tools for proposals, reporting, and sales tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in the Middle East market or international event sales is beneficial.
- English fluency is required; additional languages are an advantage.
