Job description
Role overview
VEA Civils, part of VEA Group Limited, is growing its electric vehicle infrastructure arm and is inviting applications from experienced civil engineering crews and EV charger installation teams. The work is based across project sites throughout the UK and supports the rollout of EV charging infrastructure.
The organisation is seeking dependable teams with hands-on experience in civils delivery, charger mounting, ducting, trenching, foundations, reinstatement, and the wider associated works needed for these projects.
Project scope
- Construction of EV charger bases
- Mounting and installation of EV chargers
- Installation of ducting
- Excavation for cable routes
- Trenching and related excavation tasks
- Building concrete foundations and plinths
- Creating feeder pillar bases
- Working on service trenches
- Car park infrastructure works
- Kerbing and surface reinstatement
- General reinstatement activities
- Other civil engineering duties connected to EV infrastructure delivery
Experience and essential criteria
Applicants must bring relevant experience from civil engineering, utilities, EV infrastructure, highway works, or similar infrastructure environments.
- Training or certification in EUSR SHEA Power
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Manual handling awareness
- HAVS awareness
- NRSWA street works qualification
- Appropriate plant operator tickets, such as CPCS, NPORS, or an equivalent, where relevant
- Winch training where the role calls for it
- Full UK driving licence
- A clear CV or work history that demonstrates suitable experience and capability
- Copies of relevant certificates and competency records
Additional qualifications that would strengthen an application
- DNO or IDNO authorisations
- Street works supervisor qualification
- CAT and Genny training
- Utility avoidance training
- Prior EV charging infrastructure project experience
- Experience in live highways, utilities, commercial, or retail settings

This opportunity is available as permanent, contract, or CIS engagement. Pay is described as competitive, with CIS rates also available, depending on experience, qualifications, and team structure.
