About the Role
EF Language Abroad is seeking a full-time, permanent ESL Teacher for its Perth campus. This role sits within a global, multicultural environment where language learning is delivered through a mix of classroom teaching, interactive activities, and practical application. You will teach international students with a range of English abilities and work closely with the Director of Studies and the Academic team.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver lessons for General English and Special Interest (SPIN) classes that suit students with different learning goals and language levels.
- Create lively, hands-on learning experiences that encourage students to actively use English and build confidence.
- Handle academic administration such as monitoring attendance, evaluating progress, and giving students regular feedback.
- Maintain a supportive, respectful, and energetic classroom atmosphere that helps students feel included and ready to participate.
- Contribute to campus life by encouraging students to take part in activities, events, and cultural exchange opportunities beyond the classroom.
- Follow safeguarding practices and remain attentive to student welfare and safety at all times.
- Keep your teaching practice current by adopting modern ESL methods, tools, and technology that improve learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- Native or fully fluent English ability across speaking, reading, and writing.
- Prior experience teaching ESL.
- Experience supporting safeguarding and student welfare.
- Strong classroom leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a student community whose programme lengths can range from two weeks to one year.
- A bachelor’s degree in English, Teaching, or a closely related subject.
- TESOL certification such as CELTA or Certificate IV in TESOL.
- Experience living, working, or studying in another country is considered an advantage.
- Full legal right to work in Australia.
- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain one.
