Role overview
This position is for an analytical and detail-focused Equity Research Analyst / Research Analyst who can examine companies, industries, and financial markets in depth. The role centers on assessing financial performance, developing valuation models, and turning research into insights that can guide investment and strategic choices.
You will work with research and investment teams to evaluate financial information, follow market movements, and produce well-structured reports and recommendations. Strong numerical ability, financial understanding, and the capacity to translate complex data into practical takeaways are essential.
Core responsibilities
- Carry out research on listed companies, industries, and wider market trends.
- Review financial statements, earnings releases, and key operating metrics.
- Create and maintain models for valuation, forecasting, and scenario testing.
- Apply valuation techniques such as discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.
- Draft research reports, investment memos, and presentation decks.
- Keep track of market news, economic indicators, and sector performance.
- Spot potential investment opportunities, risk factors, and major value drivers.
- Assist with due diligence by reviewing financial and operational information.
- Update research databases and financial datasets regularly.
- Work with internal stakeholders on investment ideas and strategic analysis.
- Check that models and research outputs remain accurate and consistent.
- Support additional research and analysis tasks as needed.
- Follow company announcements, news flow, and significant market events.
Qualifications and requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar discipline.
- Good understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and valuation methods.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with financial modeling is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, quantitative ability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex financial information and turn it into clear insights.
