The right candidate will bring strong financial modeling capabilities, a solid understanding of capital markets, and the ability to produce distinctive investment research for institutional clients.
This position calls for someone who can independently perform fundamental analysis, form clear investment views, communicate those ideas effectively to institutional investors, and help expand the reach and impact of the firm’s research platform.
Key responsibilities
- Create original equity research on publicly traded companies and private securities.
- Write polished research pieces such as earnings previews and post-earnings reviews, sector updates, new company initiation reports, and thematic research for institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds, and other market participants.
- Deliver timely investment ideas and practical market commentary to support Odeon’s Sales and Trading teams in client discussions and revenue generation.
- Build, update, and refine detailed financial models, including operating forecasts, valuation work, scenario analysis, and peer-company comparisons.
- Review financial statements, business fundamentals, capital structures, industry trends, competitive strengths, and macroeconomic factors affecting covered companies.
- Perform channel checks, diligence work, and independent analysis to uncover opportunities and potential risks.
- Develop and preserve relationships with company management, institutional investors, industry specialists, and other market contacts to improve research quality and market insight.
- Participate in conferences, earnings calls, investor meetings, and company events to gather information and deepen sector knowledge.
- Support Odeon’s visibility and business growth through white papers, sector outlook materials, client presentations, and marketing initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong interest in financial markets and a naturally curious mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investment ideas clearly and succinctly.
- Strong analytical thinking, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to distill large amounts of information into practical, actionable conclusions.
- Entrepreneurial approach with an interest in expanding the sector franchise and client relationships.
- Comfort interacting with senior executives, institutional investors, and internal leadership.
- Strong follow-through, self-direction, and a consistent drive to perform at a high level.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; MBA is a plus.
- At least 5 years of equity research experience, ideally in a sell-side publishing analyst capacity.
- Sector experience or a clear interest in Healthcare, Technology, and/or Consumer industries is preferred.
- Strong skills in financial modeling, accounting, and valuation.
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, and similar financial research tools.
- Active FINRA credentials including SIE, Series 7, 63, 86, and 87, or willingness to obtain them before joining.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and public holidays.
- Maternity and paternity leave.
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
- Basic, voluntary, and AD&D life insurance.
