This position sits within the EAME EHS Centre of Excellence and provides expert guidance to management on environmental laws and policy matters affecting sites in the EU, UK, and Middle East. A key part of the job is helping manufacturing locations meet permit obligations, improve environmental performance, and lower costs through shared service support.
The role may be based in Poland, the UK, or Germany, with some remote working available. It also involves frequent travel within the EAME region.
Key responsibilities
- Track regulatory developments and brief management and sites on any environmental implications.
- Lead and support the rollout of Huntsman policies and standards.
- Advise on regional legal requirements, permit compliance reviews, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to environmental management systems, monitoring activities, and company-wide improvement initiatives across EAME locations.
- Offer technical and policy input on emerging environmental regulations such as the Green Deal and Circular Economy Action Plan.
- Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders in the UK and the United States.
Skills and experience required
- A degree in a relevant scientific field such as environmental science, sustainability, ecology, chemistry, or biology.
- Working knowledge of European environmental law, including the Green Deal objectives and the Industrial Emissions Directive.
- Strong communication and persuasion abilities, with confidence working across internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Comfort with data analysis and the use of spreadsheets or databases for sustainability reporting.
- Solid understanding of environmental issues and permitting procedures.
- Excellent written and spoken English; another European language would be beneficial.
