Job description
Overview
This role supports a major advisory client on a high-profile legal matter. It is designed as a practical entry-level opportunity for someone looking to gain meaningful exposure to legal work, especially in the context of a large class action tied to products that have impacted health.
No prior legal background is needed, making this a strong fit for someone exploring legal or paralegal studies in the future. The assignment offers hands-on, substantive experience and the chance to contribute to work that may influence future legal outcomes.
What you will do
You will review large volumes of closed claim files, identify important case details, and record that information accurately to help strengthen the evidence base for the matter. The position also includes support with data review and standardization. There is no direct interaction with claimants.
Qualifications
A completed bachelor’s degree is required, and candidates from a range of academic backgrounds are welcome, including business, legal studies, statistics, and economics. Prior experience with data, legal resources, or research databases is helpful. Strong Microsoft Excel ability is also important.
Work arrangement
The office is located in a modern space with easy access to Farragut North, Farragut West, and Foggy Bottom. This is a hybrid position with in-office work required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while Monday and Friday are work-from-home days. Core working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Duration
The assignment is expected to run for about 3 to 6 months at the outset, with the final length depending on how much work remains.
Compensation
Pay is set at $32 per hour.
Why this role stands out
This position offers practical, real-world experience and has historically helped associates prepare for legal careers, including admission to top law schools.
