Job description
Role overview
This contract role supports TennCare’s LTSS Operations team in Nashville, Tennessee. The work is centered on enrollment and disenrollment processing for members, with added support needed because a new eligibility platform, PERLSS, has increased the team’s workload. The position helps keep daily operations on track so member enrollments, disenrollments, and related follow-ups are completed accurately and on time.

What you will do
- Handle enrollment and disenrollment tasks for TennCare members.
- Support the team with PERLSS-related activity, including tracking defects and contributing to process improvements.
- Help with work tied to later phases of the PERLSS rollout.
- Assist with Medicaid redetermination activity as public health emergency-related pauses end and renewals resume.
- Monitor and follow up on renewal lists shared with MCOs, nursing facilities, DIDD, and other state partners.
- Support members through the renewal process so eligible individuals do not lose coverage unnecessarily.
- Transcribe approved PASRR decisions into the TMED system.
- Provide reports to the supervisor when needed.
- Work with the team on transition planning and handoff of responsibilities as the assignment closes.
Project timeline
The contractor is expected to support the team for 12 months. The first month focuses on training, shadowing, and onboarding. In the second month, the contractor begins working more independently with supervisor support and monitoring. Months 4 through 10 are intended for fully independent performance, with ongoing weekly check-ins and reporting. During months 9 and 10, transition planning begins for tasks that are nearing completion or already finished. In months 11 and 12, the contractor helps transfer responsibilities to team members and wraps up remaining work while maintaining compliance with required rules and timelines.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree from an accredited institution plus 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication ability.
