Role Overview
The college is hiring an English language lecturer for its Abha campus. This is a full-time position under a one-year contract, with a work schedule of 48 hours per week.
Qualifications and General Conditions
- A relevant degree in the applied specialty must be from a Saudi university or from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education, with equivalency proof attached where required.
- For lecturer and faculty roles, the applicant’s specialization must extend to the same field being taught.
- A bachelor’s degree must have a minimum overall grade of Good.
- All university studies must have been completed full-time.
- Applicants must clear a personal interview.
- For this English lecturer role, a master’s degree in English is preferred, with accepted specializations including Applied Linguistics, TESOL, TESL, TEFL, Linguistics, or English Literature, along with at least 2 years of experience in education or training.
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in English may also be considered if they hold a CELTA certificate and have at least 5 years of education or training experience.
Responsibilities
- Support the college’s vision and mission through daily academic work.
- Deliver teaching and training activities in line with the approved study plan and teaching load.
- Teach assigned subjects according to the system-defined hours.
- Conduct practical classes and exercises as required.
- Prepare, set, correct, review, and verify exam papers and other assessment work.
- Share the latest developments and updates in the subject area with students.
- Contribute to improving college programs and operational procedures.
- Take part in department councils, committees, college events, and research initiatives.
- Attend department council meetings and participate in decision-making.
- Complete tasks assigned by the department council within the applicable rules.
- Maintain discipline in classrooms and laboratories.
- Handle teaching, research, academic advising, and other administrative or academic duties as assigned, in addition to the teaching load.
- Support scientific research in the discipline.
- Prepare quality-related work and academic reports as needed.
- Encourage healthy competition, innovation, and creativity among students.
- Participate in department and college committees.
- Submit regular reports requested by the college or academic departments.
- Protect the college’s reputation and property, while ensuring order and student safety.
- Remain dedicated to duties at the college.
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, and instructions in Saudi Arabia, and avoid any action that interferes with religion or politics.
