English Language Expert

Role Overview

This remote, hourly contractor position focuses on evaluating and improving English-language AI outputs. The work may involve reviewing machine-generated answers, creating expert language content, and giving clear, practical feedback that helps models produce more accurate and natural responses.

You will judge responses for correctness, clarity, and how well they follow the prompt. The role also includes spotting issues in logic, meaning, process, or understanding, checking facts when required, writing strong explanations and corrected versions, and comparing multiple model outputs based on quality of reasoning and accuracy.

The employer is a rapidly expanding AI data services company that supplies training data to major AI firms and foundation-model labs. Your expertise in English directly supports the improvement of advanced AI systems by making their outputs more precise, fluent, and well explained.

Please note that there is no active project immediately available for this position. If you qualify, you may be contacted first when relevant assignments open up, and you will also gain access to future projects through the expert network.

Education and Profile

A bachelor’s degree or a higher qualification in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related subject is expected. Strong English ability is essential, with C1 proficiency as the minimum and native-level or C2-level command preferred. Professional-level ability in at least one additional language is a strong advantage.

Applicants should have a solid grasp of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse flow, and style-sensitive editing across different tones and formats. They should also be able to notice small errors, shifts in meaning, ambiguity, and inconsistencies, then explain corrections in a clear and useful way.

Familiarity with style guides and consistency checks for tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization is important. The role suits someone who is dependable, self-managed, and comfortable producing high-quality work in a remote contractor setup that may span multiple time zones.

Prior experience in AI data training, annotation, editorial quality assurance, localization quality assurance, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred. Practical experience using tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed prompts and expert responses on varied subjects to support AI training and help improve model learning.
• Review, evaluate, and rank AI-generated responses to strengthen accuracy, fluency, and relevance to the context.
• Check models for mistakes, inconsistencies, or bias and assess how reliably they perform across different use cases.
• Write precise feedback, corrected explanations, and revised model outputs that demonstrate the right method or interpretation.
• Assess whether responses follow the original prompt and whether their reasoning is sound, complete, and logically structured.

Additional Information

This is a contract-based remote role billed hourly. There is no immediate project at the moment, but qualified candidates may be considered first for upcoming opportunities and future expert-network assignments.
