Company Overview
Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Operations Manager to support and streamline product development processes through analysis, process improvement, and operational insights. This position involves budget management and collaboration across multiple teams such as finance, engineering, and program management to forecast and meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and develop sophisticated tools and procedures to boost operational efficiency, coordinating closely with senior leadership for implementation.
- Manage deployment programs for customers and partners, evaluate complex content, and influence teams to ensure proper training is delivered.
- Analyze collected data, identify deviations from set performance metrics, and propose solutions to address any gaps.
- Utilize technical understanding to negotiate budget requests and forecasts with engineering management within the organization.
- Monitor engineering expenses and project timelines against budgets across various engineering domains.
- Generate and review budgetary reports on a quarterly basis or as required.
Required Experience and Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering operations or equivalent experience.
- Alternatively, an Associate's degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with over 9 years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar fields.
- PMP certification.
- Eight or more years in engineering operations or a related field.
- Minimum four years’ experience in technical project management, including resource management and risk mitigation.
- At least four years interacting with senior leadership levels such as Directors or higher.
- More than three years working within large matrix organizations.
- Two or more years analyzing business metrics such as customer support tickets and KPIs.
- Experience in managing operating budgets or project financials for no less than two years.
Level of Responsibility and Expectations
- Work independently with minimal supervision, making decisions with moderate impact which may involve collaboration beyond the immediate team to resolve issues.
- Communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences, requiring negotiation and influencing skills.
- Influence key organizational decisions by providing input to senior leadership.
- Handle tasks without defined procedures, employing multiple cognitive skills to determine the most effective approach.
- Innovate new processes and procedures within given frameworks to meet objectives.
- Apply advanced deductive and inductive problem-solving skills, dealing with incomplete or conflicting information and performing sophisticated data analysis.
- Occasionally contribute to strategic planning for immediate operational areas.
