About the Company
AL TAIF provides maintenance, repair, overhaul, and end-to-end lifecycle support for land platforms, heavy utility vehicles, and ground support equipment used by the UAE Armed Forces. Its work helps the customer stay mission-ready by ensuring vehicles, systems, and personnel operate at a high level of performance.
Role Summary
This position supports project management and engineering coordination across mechanical and electrical workstreams. The role involves handling customer queries, helping define project scope, coordinating with internal teams, preparing plans and reports, and tracking delivery against priorities and commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a supporting contact for the Engineer II, Project Management when dealing with customer questions and requirements.
- Collect and document project needs covering both mechanical and electrical elements.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and outside stakeholders.
- Help build detailed project plans and schedules aligned with project priorities and available resources.
- Track progress to make sure projects are delivered on time and in a professional way.
- Carry out feasibility checks and help translate customer needs into workable solutions.
- Join discussions between the customer and the engineering design team.
- Record lessons learned throughout the project and help shape improvement actions for future work.
- Assist the Sr. Engineer, Planning & Quality and the Engineer II, Project Management in identifying risks and issues that may affect delivery.
- Draft clear monthly project updates for management review.
- Use project management methods and tools to organize and monitor deliverables.
- Handle several projects at once and meet demanding timelines while working in a team-based environment.
- Keep technical and professional knowledge current through workshops, publications, networking, and professional groups.
- Follow all applicable contract obligations, as well as AL TAIF quality and HSE standards.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of company information.
- Support colleagues within the Engineering Department as needed.
- Take on other duties assigned by the line manager or Director, Engineering.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
- A master’s degree in Engineering Management or an MBA is preferred.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- About 1 year of project management experience is preferred.
- Around 1 to 2 years of exposure to engineering design in electrical, mechanical, or related technical systems is an advantage.
- Interest in, or active progress toward, PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
- Hands-on exposure to project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Smartsheet is required.
- Strong presentation, questioning, listening, and negotiation abilities are needed.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with a structured, methodical approach.
- Experience with military tactical or combat vehicles is considered an advantage.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities and multiple disciplines is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS is preferred.
- Strong command of both written and spoken English and Arabic is required.
- Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE driver’s license.
