Brief Job Overview
The Employee Relations Manager is tasked with cultivating a positive workplace atmosphere by overseeing employee relations initiatives, resolving workplace disputes, and ensuring adherence to labor laws and company policies. This position acts as a key advisor to both management and employees, promoting fairness, consistency, and engagement throughout the organization while reinforcing a strong compliance culture.

USP emphasizes scientific integrity, regulatory excellence, and evidence-based decision-making to ensure health systems globally can depend on robust, tested, and internationally relevant quality standards. Furthermore, USP’s People and Culture division, in collaboration with the Equity Office, focuses on leadership and workforce development, equipping all employees with the necessary skills to build high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes providing training on equitable management practices and tools designed to foster engaged, collaborative, and results-oriented work environments.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and confidential investigations into people-related issues, including behavioral concerns, policy violations, employee grievances, and workplace conflicts, ensuring timely resolution.
- Serve as the primary liaison with labor offices and regulatory bodies to guarantee compliance with statutory obligations and to manage any audits or inspections.
- Uphold strict adherence to all applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal Human Resources policies.
- Provide expert guidance to managers, in coordination with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), on managing investigation outcomes, implementing findings and recommendations, and executing related corrective and developmental actions.
- Regularly review and update employee relations policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and effective.
- Collaborate closely with HRBPs to manage complex employee relations cases, develop strategic solutions, and integrate compliance and ethical practices into the organizational culture.
- Work in partnership with global and regional Compliance, Ethics, and Legal teams to ensure alignment with corporate standards and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Analyze employee relations data to identify key trends and provide actionable insights that inform the development of improved employee relations programs and processes.
- Lead and support compliance awareness sessions and training programs covering policies, risk management practices, and other pertinent issues to ensure consistent understanding across all teams.
