About the Nursery

Bright Horizons Tingley nursery in Tingley is hiring an Early Years Housekeeper. The role sits within an organisation shaped by HEART values: Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork. The company promotes an environment where people can bring their full selves to work, feel backed by the team, and contribute meaningfully to children’s early development.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a salary of £26,662.20 per year. Benefits include a 40% childcare discount for the first child, enhanced parental leave, 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays and paid Christmas closure, with the option to buy extra leave. Additional support includes pension coverage, financial and wellbeing support such as 24/7 virtual GP access and early wage access, and a professional development programme with career-stage learning and access to a careers coach.

Working pattern: 40 hours across 5 days. All benefits are subject to terms and conditions.

Role Overview

As part of the nursery team, you will help maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe setting for children, staff, and families. The role focuses on keeping key areas such as bathrooms and nappy-changing spaces clean throughout the day, handling daily laundry duties, and stepping in to assist with other nursery activities when needed, including support during mealtimes and cleaning equipment.

Key Duties

  • Keep the nursery environment clean, tidy, and safe for children, colleagues, and families.
  • Maintain a strong standard of cleanliness and hygiene in children’s bathrooms and nappy-changing areas throughout the day.
  • Complete daily laundry tasks as required.

  • Assist with cleaning and care of nursery equipment.
  • Help with other nursery duties as requested.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will already have experience cleaning in either a domestic or commercial environment. You should hold Food Safety CIEH Level 2 or an equivalent qualification, and this must be completed successfully on the first day in post. A solid understanding of COSHH and wider health and safety practices is also required, along with strong communication skills for working with colleagues, children, and parents.
