Job description
Company Overview
TOTS – Creche and Daycare is a community-centered early years provider focused on helping children begin life with a strong foundation. The organisation delivers high-quality Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) alongside afterschool services, with an emphasis on safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces where children can learn through play, explore freely, and grow in confidence.
The centre combines child-led approaches with evidence-informed developmental methods to support each child’s overall growth. It also encourages staff development through continuous learning, teamwork, and opportunities to progress professionally. TOTS places strong value on child wellbeing, development, and creating meaningful outcomes for both children and early years practitioners.
Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position is based in Kildare, County Kildare, Ireland. The Early Childhood Educator will design and lead age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences that encourage children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
What You Will Do

The role includes supporting meal, rest, and play routines, observing children’s progress, recording key developmental notes, and sharing updates professionally with families and team members.
You will also contribute to classroom planning, participate in centre-wide initiatives, attend team discussions, and take part in professional development. In addition, you will be expected to work in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards at all times.

The role also calls for creativity in planning engaging learning activities, good organisational ability to manage materials, routines, and records, and clear written and verbal communication. A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required, subject to local regulatory expectations. Familiarity with safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusive practice is essential, along with flexibility, dependability, and enthusiasm for supporting young children’s wellbeing and learning.
