Job description
Role overview
Derbyshire County Council is looking for a proactive Driver/Handy Person to join County Transport at the Dove Holes Workshop. The post suits someone who can work to a high standard with limited supervision and is comfortable handling a varied, practical workload.
What the job involves
You will be responsible for collecting and delivering a broad range of vehicles to support servicing and repair work carried out at local dealerships. The role also includes workshop cleaning, general housekeeping, vehicle valeting, and carrying out small-scale property repairs and alterations when needed.
Licence and experience requirements
A full driving licence covering categories B, C and D1 is required. Candidates without a current category C (HGV Class 2) licence and without recent HGV driving experience should not apply.
Working pattern
The position is based at Dove Holes Workshop. Usual hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm, and Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm. From time to time, you may also be asked to support other County Transport workshops.
Tools and equipment
All standard and specialist tools and equipment, along with personal protective equipment and branded workwear, are provided.
Pay and benefits
