Job description

Role overview

This role is all about delivering groceries to customers’ homes in a friendly, reliable, and efficient way. The position suits someone who enjoys being on the move, meeting new people, and helping ensure orders arrive fresh and on time. No two days are the same, and the work is designed for someone who can handle a fast-moving, varied environment while keeping customers happy.

What you’ll do

You will spend your day carrying out home deliveries and supporting customers with a positive, helpful approach. The job involves working quickly and accurately, using your own initiative where needed, and maintaining high standards of safety while handling delivery equipment and goods.

Candidate profile

The employer is looking for someone who enjoys customer interaction, works well in an active role, and is confident resolving simple customer queries independently. You should be comfortable using a variety of equipment, following health and safety standards, and handling totes that may weigh up to 18 kg.

Eligibility

To be considered, you must be over 18 years old, have held a full driving licence for at least 1 year, and have no more than 6 points on that licence. The employer also notes that recruitment is only for people above school-leaving age.

Benefits and rewards

  • Flexible shift arrangements
  • Six weeks of holiday, bank holidays included
  • 15% discount in supermarkets and convenience stores from your first day
  • Extra 10% discount card for a friend or family member
  • Opportunities to progress and develop your career
  • Discounted in-store café and shop-floor food ranges
  • Pension scheme and life assurance
  • Health and wellbeing support, including Aviva Digital GP
  • Employee discount platform with savings at shops, cinemas, gyms, and more
  • Optional payroll charity donations
  • Family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of maternity and adoption leave, plus neonatal and fertility leave

Additional information

The company says it wants to create opportunities for people to succeed and grow in their careers. It also highlights its inclusive recruitment approach and offers support for reasonable adjustments during the hiring process if needed.

About the company

The employer is one of the UK’s largest supermarkets, serving more than 11 million customers each week with good value, quality groceries and fresh food. Freshness is a key part of its business, with more fresh food prepared in-store than at any other supermarket. The wider business describes itself as a team of foodmakers and shopkeepers working together to serve customers well.
