Job description
Role summary
This position is responsible for carrying out driver examinations and related licensing support in the Huntsville area. The role focuses on assessing driving ability fairly, delivering strong customer service, and helping candidates understand test outcomes and licence requirements.
What you will do
- Assess applicants at the G2 and G licence levels, and at the M2, M and controlled class (ABZ) levels when qualified and required.
- Administer road tests, evaluate vehicle handling, traffic-law compliance, safe-driving practices, and performance under stress.
- Share test results, explain errors and improvement areas, and complete road test assessment records.
- Answer questions about driver licensing, test and re-test steps, and licence classes.
- Confirm candidate identity by verbally verifying the full name and full date of birth.
- Support driver examination services and licensing issue resolution.
- Travel to designated points to provide testing and licensing services where needed.
- Conduct assessments for applicants with special needs or disabilities.
- For M2, M and controlled class tests, observe and evaluate riding technique and control of the vehicle.
- Follow all operational, safety, environmental, drug and alcohol, quality, and confidentiality requirements.
- Complete additional duties, including special projects, as assigned.
Safety and workplace expectations
- Help maintain a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment at the DriveTest Centre and travel locations.
- Use required equipment, materials, and protective devices correctly.
- Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions promptly.
- Comply with the worker duties set out in Part III, Section 27 of the OHSA.
Qualifications
- Minimum education requirement is a GED or high school diploma.
- Must hold a valid Ontario Class ABZ driver’s licence.
- Must have at least four years of driving experience, verified by the date first licensed on the Ontario driver’s licence.
- If applicable, a valid Class M and/or controlled class licence is also required.
- Must maintain no more than four demerit points and no more than three violations throughout employment.
- Two years of experience delivering excellent customer service is required.
- Intermediate computer skills are necessary.
- Knowledge of the DriveTest program, related laws, regulations, and government/company policies is preferred.

Work demands and conditions
- Mental effort is moderate for more than 4 hours per day, or high for 2 to 4 hours per day.
- Physical effort is moderate for about 4 hours per day.
- The role includes some exposure to unpleasant conditions.
- There is a minor risk of injury, harm, or illness.
- Work may involve weather exposure and vehicle-related exposure.

The position requires participation in any security measures determined by the employer. Initial and ongoing IDEC testing and training are required for the road-test categories you are qualified to conduct.
