Job description
Overview
This position contributes to the design and rollout of a robust reporting framework spanning the organization’s internal and external reporting and dashboard needs for operations within assets affairs, with a specific focus on drainage operations and maintenance. The role is central to helping the Authority stay alert to risk and operate as a resilient organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion the organization’s vision and values within the Drainage Networks Operations and Maintenance Department so they become embedded in the team culture.
- Continuously assess objectives, risks, and KPIs, and drive actions that improve performance and development.
- Track departmental progress against approved budgets and timelines by reviewing performance reports whenever required.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity while carrying out all duties.
- Provide the technical office manager with specialist technical, strategic, and operational guidance on drainage asset management.
- Recommend improvements to risk management, operational output, and overall performance to support strategic goals tied to drainage assets.
- Represent the technical office manager in assets-related meetings on drainage matters with internal and external technical stakeholders.
- Assist in developing comprehensive KPIs for drainage operations and asset management.
- Review assets affairs matters and handover processes, and support the technical office in making informed decisions.
Mandatory Requirements
- A degree from a recognized university in an appropriate discipline such as engineering, business, or an equivalent field.
- Chartered status or a professional license issued by an internationally recognized professional body or organization.
- At least 20 years of postgraduate experience, including major infrastructure projects or programs; preference is given to candidates with roads, aviation, structures, or rail exposure, along with 15 years in a similar role and 5 years in Qatar and/or the Gulf region.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability, relationship management skills, and communication capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master’s degree in project management, road operations, KPI, or strategy.
- Strong written and spoken Arabic communication skills.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of drainage operations and maintenance performance.
- Ability to build enterprise-level dashboard solutions.
- Familiarity with asset operations platforms such as Maximo and SAP Plan Maintenance.
- Basic understanding of quality, risk management, and HSE principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
