DP Mathematics Teacher (Applications & Interpretation)

Role Overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar is seeking a committed and enthusiastic DP Mathematics Teacher with a focus on Applications and Interpretation to teach students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The school is a values-led IB World School that also offers the IBCP, and the position involves helping learners see mathematics as a practical tool for understanding and solving real-world challenges.

Key Duties

• Design and deliver high-quality IB DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons at Standard Level and/or Higher Level, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and assessment expectations.
• Strengthen students' mathematical reasoning, modelling ability, statistical understanding, and confidence in using technology such as GDCs and mathematical software.
• Lead and support the Internal Assessment process, including the Mathematical Exploration, with clear guidance, feedback, and structured academic support.
• Prepare learners thoroughly for external IB examinations using informed, evidence-based teaching strategies.
• Adapt lessons and resources so that students of varied abilities, including those with additional learning needs or English as an Additional Language, can succeed.
• Teach MYP Mathematics when assigned, maintaining an inquiry-based approach and strong academic standards.
• Contribute positively to the Mathematics department and participate in the wider school community.

Candidate Profile

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Bring proven experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Mathematics, preferably Applications and Interpretation.
• Understand IB assessment methods, Internal Assessment requirements, and effective exam preparation.
• Be skilled in using GDCs, mathematical software, and other classroom technology to improve learning.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management, communication, and differentiation capabilities.
• Show a firm commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
• IB DP Mathematics workshop training is an advantage, and international school experience is also desirable.
• Be able to satisfy visa requirements for employment in Qatar.
